La Livinière, traceability and clean farming tradition
The vineyard of Cave La Livinière is among the very best of the Minervois appellation area, planted on slopes facing south and going slowly down from the Montagne Noire to the Canal du Midi.
In addition to this privileged geographical situation, Cave La Livinière is among the rare wine co-ops to have a real traceability and clean farming tradition. Winegrowers are obliged to detect genuine disease signs prior to using any chemicals in the vineyards.
Naturally this policy leads to quality products. If you happen to be in the area, stop at the tasting cellar and simply ask for a glass of tablewine : you will be surprised how pure it tastes ! |

Minervois - La Livinière : a great AOC
The great appellation Minervois - La Livinière was born in 1999 in this context where winegrowers act together for quality.
Rules are very strict to obtain the right of printing Minervois - La Livinière on one's label : vineyards in a limited area gathering the best terroir within the Minervois area, maximal yield of 45 hl/ha, carbonic maceration, 12 month maturing in new oak...all these factors are put together to ensure the production of a Grand Cru.
With a potential production of 4.000 hl, the wine co-op of La Livinière is undoubtedly the leader of the great appellation Minervois - La Livinière. |

Cave La Livinière sets out to conquer new markets
For decades Cave La Livinière has sold wine in bulk to regional negociants but wants since a few years to develop its own labels destined to domestic sales as well as to the export markets.
The 600 ha cultivated area produces 35.000 hl of quality wines (80% red, 10% white, 10% rosé) yearly.
Philippe Martin, Managing Director, has got plenty of work to communicate and to convince buyers all over the world that the terroir and wines of La Livinière are of great commercial value. Because interest for La Livinière grows every year a specific product range for export markets has recently been created. Cave La Livinière is proud to present these new wines. |
