Who is Le Nez ?

	Bandol wines : nobleness, quality and tradition The historical vineyard of Bandol located in the Var department (Provence), produces red wines of high reputation with a long keeping potential, as well as rosés and a few whites. All conditions are put together on this specific terroir for the production of outstanding wines : ground nature and topography, sunshine hours and aspect allow faultless harvests. For Bandol red wines, AOC regulation is very strict : Mourvèdre must count for at least 50% of the composition, green harvest is compulsory, yield can not exceed 40 hl/ha, oak maturing must be at least 18 months... The inimitable quality and personality of Bandol red makes it simply one of the greatest french wines.

	Mourvèdre, characterful grape variety of Bandol Mourvèdre has adapted particularly well on the chalky grounds of the Bandol area. Nor could it reach such an expression anywhere else : Mourvèdre is capricious and needs both sunshine hours to ripe properly and refreshing breeze from the sea to ensure wines won't be heavy. After a couple of years maturing Bandol red is rich and fine. After 3 or 4 years it develops gorgeous choice aromas of leather, pepper, tobaco and liquorice. Bandol rosé is clear, warm and subtle. Very unique phenomenon for rosé wines, the presence of Mourvèdre makes it improve in its second year !

	A warm welcome at Domaine Baguiers Although Bandol vineyard is no bigger than 1.400 hectares there is a very large choice if you look for a Bandol supplier : 50 estates and 5 wine co-ops ! Between the magnificent villages of Castellet and Cadière d'Azur, Claudine, Franck and Jean-Louis Jourdan humbly run their family Estate. They will welcome you heartily in their cellar to share the fruit of their passion. The modesty of the Jourdan family (to be found also in the prices !) inspires one to give a special tribute to Domaine Baguiers, especially when you know their wines match the best of the Bandol appellation !
